The Outreach Section Task Force covers outreach across audiences (archivists and general public) and should work in coordination with other task forces as necessary. Resources it should consider for inclusion would include:
* match-making service (to help prospective donors discover and contact the most appropriate archive, based at least in part on queries against the archive directory database)
* mentoring program (to match experienced archivists with organizations with archival collections who lack the expertise to preserve and document the collections)
* speakers' bureau
* marketing archival collections
* outreach to libraries, archives and museums containing “hidden” archival moving image collections (or where preservation of moving image materials is not an area of expertise)
* web exhibits
* documenting film preservation procedures
* "memorial wall" of moving image materials permanently lost
* "found" wall for new discoveries

The Access & Programming Task Force will cover a broad philosophical overview for access (how does access promote the social utility of moving images? what are traditional barriers? where is technology a barrier and where is it useful?) and programming (what are the goals of public programming from the perspective of a moving image archive? what are the optimal conditions and venues for archival programming and how do they differ from commercial exhibition?), as well as construct a narrative on the history of national moving image access initiatives. Resources it should consider for inclusion would include:
* types of access with examples and links
* traditional and innovative access strategies (e.g. special needs access: examples of captioning, DVS, other assisted access strategies)
* promotional strategies
* conferences and events: IMLS WebWise, etc.
* Festivals, especially festivals of preservation and preserved materials
* Copyright and intellectual property rights issues
* National Moving Image Preservation Plan
* online discussion forum for access and programming issues

The General Public Portal Task Force covers that area of most interest to the general public or layperson, and should address commonly asked questions about such issues as access ("How do I get a copy of a film?"), how to donate a collection, basic preservation and troubleshooting ("Care and feeding of your personal collection"), and copyright ("What are all these restrictions, and why?"). It might include a primer on researching moving image documents, or a how-to page with sample customizable letter, educating end users on obtaining rights to use or license footage.

The Small Gauge/Amateur Film Task force covers topics relevant to amateur and non-35mm film collections. For the Archivists' Portal it will offer information on preservation issues specific to small gauge film, including sources for information about small gauge history and technology; resources for laboratory work; access to equipment and supplies; and sources for preservation funding. Additionally, for the General Public Portal it will address topics most asked by holders of amateur film and home movie collections, such as: finding appropriate repositories for amateur film collections; and affordable "do-it-yourself" techniques and tools for preservation and storage.
