The MIC directory data element evaluation is now closed.
Many thanks to everyone who participated in the evaluation. This evaluation will help us select directory search criteria and develop displays, including dynamic web pages, for participating organizations.
The evaluation results will be posted on the website sometime this summer.

Development History:

In July, 2002, the National Film Preservation Board of the Library of Congress hosted and funded a two-day planning meeting to finalize the data elements and associated controlled vocabularies for the Archive Directory component of MIC (then called the AMIA Moving Image Gateway). The meeting included the developers, alpha site participants, experts in a number of allied fields (controlled vocabularies, standards development, union catalog implementation, directory design) and representatives from a broad range of constituencies (researchers, academic archives, the international archive community, etc.). Many participants continued after the meeting through participation on task forces. These task forces prepared reports which were used to develop the Directory prototype.
